  • "Determined to force settlers out of Ohio Territory Tecumseh, leader of the Shawnee, joins warriors from over a dozen Native Indian tribes in guerilla attacks along the frontier. Over the next year, 2,500 Americans are killed. In one attack alone Native American warriors wipe out 1,000 local militia men. By 1793 the flow of settlers grinds to a hault creating a crisis in the nation's capital."

  • In 1789 France was shaken by revolution and King Louis XVI guillotined in 1793. Britain was once more at war with France. America not involved. Maximilien Robespierre rose to power and the Jacobins and virtual dictatorship by the Committee of Public Safety during the Reign of Terror from 1793 until 1794 during which between 16,000 and 40,000 people were killed.
