Computer Science Pioneer
British mathematician, Charles Babbage, discovered the punch cards
used for looms (see 1801) could also store numbers and other data.
Using this technology Babbage designed a computer he called "the analytical engine"
that he didn't quit finish. His punch data cards were used in computers through the 1970s.
(See 1801 for previous computer science
advancement.)
(See 1890 for next improvement in computer science.)
