Triangular TradePhilosophical society is founded in
Newport, Rhode Island in 1730 and many wealthy citizens of the colonies
travel to the spa in New Port on vacation. Newport becomes an important
mercantile town, as the center of the "triangular trade" - "rum produced
in New England distilleries is exchanged for black slaves from Africa,
and the slaves are then traded for sugar and molasses from the West

Independence Hall startedIn Philadelphia, Andrew Hamilton completes a Georgian design for the Old State House,
better known as Independence Hall. The construction of the building is not completed until 1753."
