John II and Elizabeth Vardeman moved their family of 12 children (not all confirmed) to Crab Orchard, Kentucky from 1779 to 1813 and settled near Cedar Creek. One of their sons, Jeremiah Vardeman became the second pastor of Cedar Creek Baptist church from 1802-1810
